Casting News Of The Day: Bryan Cranston has been cast as the villain in the Total Recall reboot. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he’ll play “Vilos Cohaagen, the leader of Euromerica who, under the cover of protecting his people, is secretly readying an invasion of New Shanghai.”
Director Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) has already tapped Colin Farrell to play the lead role of confused spy “Douglas Quaid.” And supposedly, Kate Bosworth, Diane Kruger, Eva Mendes, Paula Patton, Jessica Biel and Eva Green are all being considered for the two main female characters, Lori and Melinda.
The script was penned by Kurt Wimmer who adapted the overall plot of the remake from Phillip K. Dick’s short story, “We Can Remember it for You Wholesale.”
