Denial of the Day

Denial of the Day: PS3 hacker George Hotz — AKA GeoHot — says he’s not the one behind the PlayStation Network breach. It’s easy to see why Sony might suspect him, though. Hotz recently settled with Sony after they sued him for hacking the PS3′s firmware.

Just because Hotz didn’t hack PSN himself doesn’t mean he’s entirely against the people who did. He’s all for hacking and “exploring security,” but doesn’t support stealing databases of user info, “even if it is aimed at douchebags like Sony.”

GeoHot also offers some words of wisdom to the perpetrators:

You are clearly talented and will have plenty of money (or a jail sentence and bankruptcy) coming to you in the future. Don’t be a dick and sell people’s information. And I’d love to see a write up on how it all went down…lord knows we’ll never get that from Sony, noobs probably had the password set to ’4′ or something.

Okay, George, but tell us how you really feel about Sony.
