X-Men: First Class Character Trailers of the Day: Three new trailers for X-Men: First Class are out today, and they focus on three different mutants: Beast, Banshee and Havok.
Beast (Nicholas Hoult) gets cozy with Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique and grows his trademark blue fur for the first time, Banshee (Caleb Landry Jones) learns to fly (although he’s not quite so lucky in the making out with Jennifer Lawrence department), and Havok (Lucas Till) tries to control his plasma energy powers.
The Xavier-Institute-as-preppy-boarding-school feel of these trailers is interesting, and points to a character-driven X-Men flick that will still involve plenty of explosive powers. It’s a shame poor Havok is stuck with that dorky plasma hula hoop effect, though. Couldn’t they have just let him throw bolts of energy like a normal mutant kid?
X-Men: First Class hits theaters June 3rd.
