Lost Pyramids of the Day

Lost Pyramids of the Day

Lost Pyramids of the Day: Infrared satellite images have revealed 17 lost pyramids in Egypt, along with more than 1,000 tombs and 3,000 settlements. Excavations have already begun, confirming at least two of the pyramids.

According to Dr. Sarah Parcak of the University of Alabama, who analyzed the satellite images, these discoveries are probably just the beginning, because the infrared technology can only pick up settlements close to the surface. The initial findings could point the way to other settlements that have been covered over by silt from the Nile.

Dr. Parcak also took a moment to diss another well-known archaeologist, saying “Indiana Jones is old school, we’ve moved on from Indy. Sorry, Harrison Ford.”

Okay, sure, your infrared satellite may be better than Indy at finding historically important dig sites, but can it fight the Nazis? Because I hate those guys.
