Twitter Photo Sharing Rumor of the Day: Twitter is planning to launch its own photo sharing service tomorrow, according to TechCrunch.
Although TechCrunch doesn’t have any details about what the service will be called or which URL shortener it will use, they do point out that this is bad news for existing photo sharing services TwitPic and Yfrog. Twitter has been cracking down on third-party apps that duplicate Twitter functionality, so they could go after these services once a Twitter-branded alternative launches.
Of course, TwitPic or Yfrog could also go the way of Tweetmeme, a popular third-party tweet button service that ended up partnering with Twitter to launch the official tweet button last year.
