Call of Duty Online Service of the Day: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is getting its own online service, called Call of Duty Elite, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Call of Duty Elite will launch in the fall with an unspecified subscription price. Activision expects it will cost less than a $7.99 Netflix subcription.
Apparently, the subscription fees are a must because of all the development that’s going into making Elite more than just a basic multiplayer offering. Elite doesn’t replace regular multiplayer, either — you’ll still be able to shoot up your friends for free if you don’t feel like paying for the as-yet-unrevealed special features.
