Makeshift Sword of the Day: From the “I wish I’d had this as a kid” files: the branch holder. This piece of foam rubber makes a stick look like a kickass pirate cutlass, protects your hand a little bit in branch-sword duels, and doesn’t kill the imagination that makes those swordfights so much fun in the first place.
Credit for this brilliant idea goes to designer Naama Agassi, who was probably the coolest kid in the neighborhood growing up. Unfortunately, the branch holder isn’t for sale (although I’m sure creative kids can make their own).
