Android Stats of the Day: The most popular smartphone platform isn’t Apple’s iOS, it’s Android. And it turns out that the gap is growing.
Google’s Andy Rubin tweeted today that over 500,000 Android devices are activated every day, and that number is growing 4.4% week over week.
Of course, that’s not the whole fight: Apple’s App Store ecosystem still trumps Android’s in revenue by a huge margin. All those new Android customers have to be pretty attractive to developers, though, so it could finally be time for an Android Market boom.
