MoviePass of the Day: A new service called MoviePass could be the Netflix of the big screen. For $50 a month, MoviePass customers get admission to unlimited movies at participating theaters. There’s also a $30 4-movie package.
MoviePass bookings work through a smartphone app that subscribers can use to locate available showings and check in. Instead of getting a ticket, you can just flash your phone and walk right in.
So far, MoviePass is only available in 21 San Francisco locations, but the company’s eventual goal is to reach 40% of US theaters.
