Glow-in-the-Dark Dog of the Day: Researchers in South Korea have created a glow-in-the-dark dog who could help cure human genetic diseases.
The dog, a female beagle called Tegon, glows under ultraviolet light, and the glowing can be turned on and off with antibiotics. The goal is to figure out how to “turn off” fatal human diseases the same way.
Tegon got her glowing ability through the same cell transfer process that created the world’s first cloned dog in 2005.
Check out some test photos of the fluorescent dog after the jump.
