Adobe HTML5 Tool of the Day: Adobe today launched a preview of its HTML5 “web motion and interaction design tool,” Adobe Edge.
Although Adobe says Edge isn’t meant to replace Flash, it does a lot of the same things Flash can do. The difference is that Edge uses HTML5, JavaScript and CSS3. It’s still wrapped up in a familiar Adobe interface, though.
In a web design world that’s increasing turning away from Flash and toward the latest web standards, this is a huge play by Adobe to keep its place at the top of the design software food chain.
