KickStarter Project of the Day: Problem: Bicycles tires, slowly but surely, lose air.
Solution: Benjamin Krempel’s PumpTire. PumpTires have a detachable valve that senses a deflated tire, uses the motion of the wheels and a small tube wrapped around the outside of the tire to push more air into the tire, and stops the air flow when the desired pressure is reached.
Krempel and his team hope to raise a steep $250,000 by October 5th, so if you’d like to banish flat tires forever, a $75 pledge on KickStarter gets you your very own set of PumpTires, complete with a pair of 65 psi valves and inner tubes.
