Facebook Music Service Rumor of the Day: Facebook may announce a streaming music platform at the upcoming f8 developer conference, Mashable reports.
The service is rumored to be a partnership with Rdio, MOG and Spotify. Users will be able listen to and share music via Facebook, but no files would actually be hosted on the site.
Facebook wouldn’t confirm the rumors. A spokesman told Mashable, “There’s nothing new to announce. Many of the most popular music services around the world are integrated with Facebook and we’re constantly talking to our partners about ways to improve these integrations.”
F8 starts on September 22nd. We’ll find out then if that “better integration” takes the form of a music service.
