World’s Brightest Legal Laser of the Day: Wicked Lasers, maker of the two-headed “Sith series” laser, has just released what they claim is “the world’s brightest laser you can legally own.”
The S3 Krypton Series has a range of 85 miles, and Wicked Lasers claims it’s bright enough to interfere with the sensors of orbital satellites.
Guinness World Records is still reviewing the S3 Krypton’s record claim, but the 1W laser has a listed brightness of 86 million lux, or 8,000 times brighter than the sun.
The laser is available right now for $1,000, or you can get a toned-down 300mW version for $300.
