FPS With a Camera of the Day: Australian game studio Defiant Development is working on a new first-person shooter that replaces guns with a camera. It’s called Warco, short for War Correspondent, and it asks players to film and edit footage from a military conflict.
Advisors on the game include real-life war correspondent Tony Maniaty and filmmaker Robert Connolly, who directed Balibo, a thriller about Australian journalists killed during the East Timor conflict in the ’70s.
Warco doesn’t actually have a publisher, release date or platform yet, but one publisher recently told Defiant that “it’s a hard sell to executives to suggest an FPS with no shooting, but this is definitely the sort of game we should be making, as an industry.”
Check out some footage from the game after the jump.
