Floppy Drive Imperial March of the Day: A maker named Silent has been spending the end of his summer holiday putting together some musical floppy drives. The sound is generated by the magnetic drive heads, moved at the appropriate frequency by a stepper motor.
Oh, and the sound Silent decided to generate happens to be the Imperial March from Star Wars. He says his next project is to assemble some even older drives, the 5.25″ and 8″ kinds, into a floppy disk orchestra.
