Hot Wheels Camera Car of the Day: Remember leaning over a Hot Wheels track as a kid, trying to get a driver’s-eye view of the action? Now there’s a car that does it for you.
Mattel’s Video Racer can capture up to 12 minutes of video — at 30 fps — and then transfer it to a PC or play it back on a built-in LCD screen.
The screen doesn’t add a lot of bulk to the car’s body, either. It’s only a little bit bigger than a standard Hot Wheels car, so it’s compatible with standard tracks.
The Video Racer’s listed specs don’t say whether the video resolution is any good, but I suspect kids won’t care too much about that when they’re watching a first-person view of their car shooting through a loop.
Six-year-old me is so jealous right now.
