Minecraft Link’s Awakening of the Day: A group of intrepid Minecraft builders has created a stop-motion playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening on a giant Game Boy inside Minecraft.
The finished product includes 1,167 frames of Zelda gameplay — apparently recreated by hand — and took five weeks to complete. It’s so insane that even Minecraft creator Notch thought it was fake.
Although, as Notch pointed out, this would be way easier to automate, the creators insist they actually did the whole thing by hand. They’ve posted a making-of video and invited Notch to visit the Game Boy himself.
Whether it’s authentic or automated, this is one of the coolest Minecraft concepts yet. Next up, the same group is doing Kirby’s Dream Land.
