Prosthetic Smartphone Arm of the Day: Trevor Prideaux was born without a left arm, making it tricky for him to operate a smartphone. With a little help from Nokia, though, he’s found a solution to the problem: embedding his phone in his prosthetic arm.
Nokia teamed up with the Exeter Mobility Centre to build a prototype arm for Prideaux, with a smartphone dock that perfectly fits his Nokia C7. Now he doesn’t have balance the phone on his arm or set it on a table to use it.
“I can now take calls and make texts just by using my one hand, while the phone sits inside my arm,” he told the Telegraph.
Before going to Nokia with his idea, Prideaux tried Apple, but was rejected. Looks like we’ll have to wait a few more years before we can all line up to buy the iArm.
