Convicted Star Wars Fan of the Day: Star Wars fan Rickie La-Touche of Leigh, Greater Manchester, UK has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering his wife after she smashed up his collection of Star Wars toys.
La-Touche said his wife, Pornpilai Srisroy, 28, had damaged most of his collection, which he had been building since childhood. He said she also threatened to leave him and said she would “make his life hell.”
He then “flipped” and suffocated her with a pillow.
“She’s put me through it before. I couldn’t let that happen again. I then just remember getting up from on top of her. I think I’ve choked her,” he told detectives.
La-Touche originally argued manslaughter, but a jury ultimately convicted him of murder and sentenced him to life. He’ll be eligible for parole in 12 years.
