Internet Censorship Protest of the Day: Congressional hearings on the controversial Protect IP Act — known in the Senate as the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) or E-Parasite Act and on the Internet as the Internet Blacklist Bill — are scheduled for tomorrow, and free speech advocates are staging an online day of protest against the legislation.
American Censorship Day asks people who run websites to participate by blacking out their logos tomorrow, replacing them with a link explaining how Protect-IP breaks the Internet.
For a quick primer on Protect-IP from the Internet’s perspective, the American Censorship Day Website suggests watching Everything is a Remix creator Kirby Ferguson’s video on the subject.
