Retired Batman Trolls of the Day: The Chilliwack, BC teenagers behind “To Troll a Predator” — a series of YouTube videos where alleged sex predators are lured into meetups with teen girls, only to be surprised by a guy in a Batman costume — have retired from trolling after meeting with police.
Authorities were worried the teens may be putting themselves in danger or even provoking their targets into preying on actual children.
“Now if that person decides that he is going to go to a different school, or to a different meeting area or runs into another child, he may decide to act on that child instead,” said Cpl. Matthew Van Laer of the RCMP’s child exploitation unit.
Police brought the teens in for a meeting and asked them to stop making the videos. They agreed, and pulled the four existing installments of “To Troll a Predator” from YouTube.
