Old Timey Lord Of The Rings of the Day: Have you ever wondered what a Lord of the Rings movie would have looked like in 1944? Well, wonder no longer: It looks like a bunch of Humphrey Bogart movies smashed together.
Obviously this is just old movie footage that’s been dubbed over to make the lines match the dialogue and plot of LOTR. Naturally, Bogart plays Frodo, but my favorite bit of “casting” is the infamously creepy looking and sounding Peter Lorre as Smeagol/Gollum.
There are also some pretty great moments where non-Bogart films get spliced in, including Godzilla, who ends up getting shot by Bogey.
