Lego for Girls of the Day: Lego’s 2012 product line will include Lego Friends, a line of sets marketed to girls.
Lego Friends features five female minifig characters who are — you guessed it — friends. Their occupations include designer, musician, veterinarian and inventor, and there are playsets for both home and work.
As for the pieces themselves, the Lego Friends minifigs are more curvy and less blocky than traditional Lego people, but they’re compatible with other Lego sets — you can even switch their hair out for any other Lego hat, helmet or hairpiece.
The sets include more standard-shaped bricks than previous “for girls” Lego releases, although they do still lean toward pink and purple color schemes.
