Gamer Girl Manifesto of the Day: A lot of women who game online would appreciate it if other players treated them as fellow players, instead of offering special treatment or making sexist comments.
But when thirty female gamers put their message of gamer unity regardless of gender into a video called “The Gamer Girl Manifesto,” YouTube trolls did what they do best.
Most of the 3,500 comments on the video are negative, accusing the gamer girls of “attention whoring” and telling them to “get back in the kitchen.” There’s even a parody video: the “Gamurr Boy Manifesto.”
Well, the video did ask “what kind of player are you?” It looks like the commenters answered the question — just not the way the people behind the Manifesto hoped they would.
