SOPA-Supporting News Networks Not Covering SOPA of the Day

SOPA-Supporting News Networks Not Covering SOPA of the Day: The Stop Online Piracy Act is big news on the Internet, but as far as the major news networks — whose parent companies all support the bill — are concerned, it practically doesn’t exist.

According to a new study by Media Matters, pro-SOPA news outlets ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, Fox News and CNN have covered the controversial bill a grand total of one time on their primetime news broadcasts. That single news segment ran on CNN.

To be fair, the online arms of these news outlets have been covering the bill and the protests against it as it makes it way through congress.

On the other hand, a piece of legislation that could potentially destroy the Internet as we know it is probably worth a bit of primetime coverage.
