Myspace TV Debut of the Day: Aging social network Myspace has relaunched yet again at CES 2012, this time as Myspace TV.
The new iteration of Myspace is owned by Justin Timberlake (yes, the same Justin Timberlake who was in The Social Network) and Panasonic, and it will focus on social television viewing.
The service will launch with music channels at first, drawing on Myspace’s library of 100,000 music videos and an insane 42 million songs. Users will be able to comment on the songs and videos in real-time as they watch, and TV shows and movies will soon get the same treatment.
Panasonic HDTVs will support the new service as part of the company’s Viera Connect Internet TV features, and Myspace TV will also get smartphone and tablet apps that can sync content between mobile devices and HDTVs using Viera Connect.
Myspace TV is due to launch in the first half of 2012.
