Joss Whedon News of the Day: Actress Abigail Spencer (Mad Men) let slip in an interview with Vulture that she’s starring in an upcoming Joss Whedon flick, which she described as “a supernatural romance.”
“His next movie, I start that next month. It’s my first time [doing a project with Whedon], but I’ve always wanted to work with him. I’m so excited to do it,” Spencer said, “It’s the most romantic film in the history of time.”
From her description, it sounds like Joss’ next project is In Your Eyes, a project he’s previously mentioned releasing via his newly-formed production company Bellwether Pictures, with Brin Hill directing.
Joss has described the film as “a metaphysical romance” about two polar opposites who find a connection in a way “neither could have ever imagined.”
Here’s what he told Deadline about the film last October:
When I wrote In Your Eyes, I didn’t have the wherewithal (or the moxie) to make it without an established production house. I believe, as I did then, that it’s a pretty timeless romance, and now, with the creation of Bellwether Pictures (and Brin Hill’s elegant, passionate take on the piece) I have the opportunity to prove it.
We don’t exactly have a crystal clear vision of what the movie is all about, but those references to time by both Spencer and Whedon can’t be a coincidence … can they?
