Google SOPA Protest of the Day

Google SOPA Protest of the Day

Google SOPA Protest of the Day: Google won’t be joining Reddit and Wikipedia’s anti-SOPA blackout tomorrow, but it will post an anti-SOPA message on its homepage.

“Like many businesses, entrepreneurs and web users, we oppose these bills because there are smart, targeted ways to shut down foreign rogue websites without asking American companies to censor the Internet,” Google said.

The company hasn’t revealed the exact message — or will it be a Google Doodle? — it will use to highlight the issue.

Google has historically only used its homepage to promote its own products, including the Chrome browser and the Chromebook, so lending that space to the SOPA fight is a pretty big move for the company.
