Half-Life Fans Demand Answers of the Day: Although rumors about Half-Life 3 have been rampant online lately, Valve itself has kept silent on the status of the project, and Half-Life fans aren’t going to take it anymore.
A 12,000-strong Steam group called “A Call for Communication” has posted a message asking Valve to give fans any information at all — even bad news — on the development of the next Half-Life game.
“Valve had stated that information was scheduled to be released towards the end of 2008, and we believe that if they have chosen, for whatever reason, to withhold this information, fans should at least be acknowledged in some way, regardless of developmental plans for the next Half-Life project,” the message says.
Even if, as one Valve employee has suggested, the Half-Life 3 rumors are just “the community trolling itself,” the company certainly hasn’t done anything to discourage speculation.
