World's Largest Video Game Controller of the Day

World’s Largest Video Game Controller of the Day: A giant NES controller — 30 times the size of the real thing — has been declared the world’s largest video game controller by the Guinness Book of World Records.

The gargantuan gamepad was built by Ben Allen, 23, a British engineering student who studies at TU Delft in the Netherlands.

It took five months and over $6,000 to build, and the finished product is about 12 feet long. It’s so enormous that it can’t be used by one person. Instead, it takes two gamers working together to push the buttons with their feet.

“This is really a labor of love,” Allen said, “We’re passionate about gaming and wanted to honour its most iconic device: the NES joypad.”
