Milky Way Timelapse of the Day: This timelapse of the International Space Station passing over Africa, Madagascar and the southern Indian Ocean last December was created from photos taken by the Mission 30 astronauts.
It provides an impressive view of the Milky Way, as well as some lightning storms, and even Comet Lovejoy, fresh off its near-death experience with the sun. You can see it as a faint streak on the right side of the video.
