Anti-SOPA Entertainment Boycott of the Day: Redditors are attempting to gather support for another anti-SOPA boycott, this time against the entire entertainment industry for the month of March.
The idea behind this “Black March” boycott is to hold off on entertainment purchases until after the first financial quarter of 2012, forcing SOPA-supporting media companies to report reduced Q1 profits.
Some Redditors argue that the economic logic behind the boycott is a bit flawed, because the companies could just make up most of the losses when the boycott ends in April, but it could still send a message.
Others have pointed out that March is when Mass Effect 3 comes out. Looks like /r/gaming won’t be participating in that boycott.
