Presidential Google+ Hangout of the Day [UPDATED]

Presidential Google+ Hangout of the Day

Presidential Google+ Hangout of the Day: When the White House became one of the newest members of Google+ last week, there was talk that President Obama would host a live chat using the social network’s Hangouts feature. Now, it’s going to happen.

Obama will be hanging out and answering questions submitted by people across the country tonight in “the first completely virtual interview from the White House.” Behind-the-scenes updates will be posted to the administration’s official Google+ page.

The Hangout continues a big social media week for Obama following his State of the Union address. Obama hosted an “enhanced” version of the speech, with live statistics and background information, on the White House website, and other administration officials — including VP Joe Biden — have held “virtual office hours” on social networks over the past week.

The Google+ Hangout with Obama starts tonight at 5:30 PM ET.

UPDATE: Watch the full interview after the jump.
