Another Follow Up of the Day: Rumors that Harrison Ford was in talks to reprise his role as Rick Deckard in Ridley Scott’s new Blade Runner movie have proven false.
According to Deadline, producer Andrew Kosove has adamantly denied the Ford rumors.
“It is absolutely patently false that there has been any discussion about Harrison Ford being in Blade Runner,” Kosove said.
“To be clear, what we are trying to do with Ridley now is go through the painstaking process of trying to break the back of the story, figure out the direction we’re going to take the movie and find a writer to work on it. The casting of the movie could not be further from our minds at this moment.”
Although the movie hasn’t yet reached the casting stage, and Kosove said he didn’t want to disparage an iconic actor like Ford, it sounds like the producer doesn’t love the idea of putting Ford in the film.
Last year he said, “If you’re asking me will this movie have anything to do with Harrison Ford, the answer is no,” but has since softened his stance, describing the star’s casting as “quite unlikely.”
