Google Retail Store Rumor of the Day: The plans for an upgrade to Google’s European headquarters in Dublin include over 1,300 square feet for a possible public store, but Google says that doesn’t mean it’s ready to jump into the retail business.
The company’s previous experience with retail includes selling Google t-shirts and other logo-adorned merch online, and opening pop-up Chromebook shops inside Currys and PC World stores in London.
A spokeswoman told Mashable that the planning application gives Google the option of testing out a store, but no decisions have been made just yet.
The Dublin headquarters is the largest Google office outside the US. After the expansion, it will have room for over 3,000 employees.
