Killer T-Cell Video of the Day: University of Cambridge researcher Alex Ritter captured this video of a killer T cell identifying and attacking cancer cells.
Ritter is part of a team at Cambridge’s Institute for Medical Research, working on ways use the body’s own immune system to fight cancer, while the autoimmune problems that occur when cytotoxic T cells get out of control and attack healthy cells.
He captured this footage using a spinning disk microscope system, and slowed it down to 1/92 the actual speed to give a better look at the interaction between the cells.
