Anonymous CIA Attack of the Day: The website of the Central Intelligence Agency was knocked offline this afternoon, and hacker group Anonymous has claimed credit.
“CIA TANGO DOWN,” said Anonymous-affiliated Twitter account @youranonnews, linking to a Russia Times story about the attack.
Anonymous has gone after several government agencies lately. Last week, the group briefly took down the Department of Justce website, and released a recording of an FBI conference call about the federal investigation of some alleged Anonymous members.
Anonymous said those operations were in retaliation for the recent shutdown of Megaupload, but the group hasn’t released a statement about the motivation behind the CIA attack.
