Mortal Kombat Flash Dance of the Day

Jan. 6, 2012

Mortal Kombat Flash Dance of the Day: A flash mob of Mortal Kombat characters takes to the streets of New York City to test their dancing might and give the city the mortal air-humping it never knew it needed.

And then they hit the bar and sing “Sweet Caroline.” That had to be Johnny Cage’s idea.

Musical Tesla Coil Hat of the Day

Nov. 15, 2011

Musical Tesla Coil Hat of the Day: MIT student Tyler Christensen‘s DIY Halloween costume was a musical tesla coil on a hat (“AKA, a really bad idea,” he writes).

Although the amazing Hat Coil — which was programmed to play the Mortal Kombat theme — blew up just before Halloween weekend, Christensen captured it on YouTube for posterity.

Christensen says he plans to repair his hat after finals in February.

Mortal Kombat Flash Rave of the Day

Nov. 5, 2011

Mortal Kombat Flash Rave of the Day: A group dressed as Mortal Kombat characters made their way around New York City harassing citizens and bystanders with their funky dance moves.

The eight-minute video shows the crew hitting up Starbucks, street corners, taxis, bodegas, the subway, and money exchanges in order to bust out their fighting footwork to The Immortals theme music.

Tommy Wiseau Video Game Show Premiere of the Day

Sep. 26, 2011

Tommy Wiseau Video Game Show Premiere of the Day: Tommy Wiseau takes on Mortal Kombat in the premiere of his new web show about video games, The Tommy Wi-Show, and it’s just as so-bad-its-good as you would expect from the creator of The Room.

It looks like the series will be more about T.W. than about the games, but he does make some good points. I mean, why doesn’t Mortal Kombat‘s character select screen have a vampire menu?

Mortal Kombat on Elm Street of the Day

Jul. 22, 2011

Mortal Kombat on Elm Street of the Day: Nightmare on Elm Street horror icon Freddy Krueger will be invading the Mortal Kombat universe as a downloadable character later this summer.

This dual-clawed Freddy appears to be the version from last year’s Nightmare reboot, rather than the ’80s Robert Englund character, although his finishing moves would be right at home in any of the movies (or your actual nightmares).

The Freddy Krueger DLC will cost you $4.99 (or the equivalent in Microsoft Points) when it comes out on August 9th.
